Our busy optical practice needs a Customer Service Optician to help our patients leave our office looking great in their perfect pair of glasses.
This is a full-time position at our office in Perry! As an Optician, you are the pharmacist of the eye care profession.
You'll be helping our patients choose the perfect glasses for them based on their personal style, lifestyle needs, prescription, and more.
This is not just any sales job! Your role is to be an educator and a style consultant.
If you hate pushy salespeople, you'll love this job, because we hate pushy salespeople, too.
Some of your duties as our Optician will include:
- Helping people pick out frames that suit them based on the shape of their face, bridge fit, lifestyle, and prescription.
- Determining the best lens types, materials, coatings, and brands for patients' lifestyles.
For example, a kid who plays basketball will need something different from someone who works on a computer all day.
- Educating first-timers on how to use and take care of their glasses and contacts - Troubleshooting prescription issues - Taking accurate measurements for all lens styles and prescriptions - Using our state-of-the-art lens edger to shape prescription lenses and then inserting them into frames.
- Checking new glasses for fit and making adjustments - Miscellaneous repairs - Billing insurance - Consistent cross-training for optimal career growth - Keeping the optical space looking clean, neat and welcoming - Doing inventory, ordering, sending and receiving shipments Experience Needed:
Experience is a plus, but it's certainly not required.
