Are you a highly motivated individual with experience in Capital Markets?! Join our team! The Capital Markets Director will serve AgGeorgia and can report into any of the following locations across the state:
Cartersville, Chatsworth, Cordele, Dublin, Gainesville, LaFayette, Moultrie, Perry, Quitman, and Tifton, Ga.
The Capital Markets Director will p rovide leadership and supervision of the capital markets department and assigned staff.
This position will provide overall responsibility for delivery of sound credit practices in accordance with Association, District, and System in relation to capital markets transactions and corporate agribusiness originated loans.
This position is also responsible for the coaching, training and development of assigned staff in accordance with Association culture and leadership expectations.
Portfolio & Departmental Requirements:
- Manages the purchased loan portfolio for satisfactory performance.
- Oversees Association guaranteed loan purchases and investments.
- Assist in setting growth goals of the portfolio in consideration of current economic outlooks.
- Develops contacts within the AgFirst District and System to foster positive relationships for participation offerings and purchases.
- Maintains purchased loan portfolio in accordance with Association risk tolerances.
- Maintains industry knowledge of agribusiness sectors from which participations originate.
- Assists with development of Association Procedures related to Capital Markets and Corporate Agribusiness transactions when necessary.
- Assists with branch originated loans of complexity.

- Assists with loan review and approval when needed, whether from capital markets/corporate loans or branch originated loans.
- Participates in team and Association meetings and trainings.
Marketing and Business Development Leadership - Execute marketing and business plans in accordance with the mission objectives of the Association.
- Assist in marketplace research and gather information to identify opportunities to increase loan volume, revenue and market share.
- Makes joint sales calls with branch loan officers as needed.
Make periodic sales calls to existing members.
- Calls on prospects as necessary to assist branch lending staff with offering a greater breadth of products and services such as treasury management and asset-based lending services.
- Maintain strong relationships with current corporate agribusiness originated portfolio.
Team Leadership, Supervisory Role:
- Mentor, train, coach, counsel and develop direct reports to assist in developing staff to their highest potential in their respective roles within the Association.
- Track and monitor performance plans to ensure high engagement and employee performance.
- Monitor financial goals within the assigned portfolios.
- Demonstrates a positive, solution driven attitude and leadership style that encourages teamwork, both within the department and across other Association functions.
- Assists with training and mentorship of staff as requested and needed.
This may include staff in other departments outside of direct reports.
Credit Administration - Review loans for credit administration, completion, correctness and for overall preparation for compliance with policy.
- Ensure sound loans, complete documentation and analysis, and prompt appropriate servicing of accounts in the assigned portfolios.
- Participates in various seminars and credit training to maintain and enhance credit skills.
- Ensures electronic records are being maintained as required for capital markets and corporate portfolios.
Loan Servicing Leadership - Monitor specific, individually assigned loans and assures that loan officers are adequately providing timely and sound servicing to members.
- Track loans through CRM and review progress of loans on a periodic basis.
- Make periodic sales calls to existing members.
- Monitor team reports and follow up with loan officers as needed.
Community Involvement - Maintain professional presence throughout the rural and business communities.
- Remain actively involved in various related professional groups to demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the loan portfolio, along with the leasing market for cross-selling opportunities.
- Make formal presentations to various local and regional groups as needed.
- Participates in industry conferences to provide marketing support as requested.
